We think they are, and here is why.
Getting an accreditation from an association like the BAR or BS 8564 is not a simple process. First, we need to be audited. An inspector will come to our offices once a year and check everything from our forklifts to our complaints processes complies to their standards. Files are checked and systems that hold private client information are examined for GDPR compliance. Vehicle records are inspected to ensure they are regularly serviced and maintained. Quotations are analysed to ensure that they are transparent and easy to understand. Over 400 checks are done to ensure that we comply with the code of conduct and are offering our clients the best possible service, to the highest possible standards.
You do not need any of these accreditations to run a removal company in fact, anyone can open their own removal company. Having accreditations does not mean your move will be perfect and always go to plan. However, if you chose a company with accreditations, it means that there is a system in place to ensure your most prized possessions are looked after. When you consider that you are entrusting everything you own someone you hardly know, we think that it is pretty important.
Eagle Relocations uses the International Standards Organisation (ISO) to ensure that our services provided are always safe, reliable and of excellent quality.
BS 8564 covers the three phases of an overseas removal. Firstly, the initial contact, survey and quotation, then the carrying out phase and lastly the follow-up including quality measurement and the handling of any claims or complaints. ISO covers every area of your removals process, carrying out quality assurance checks and ensuring you are provided with the best possible service. Please always look out for a BS 8564 certification when deciding on what company best suits your needs.
With over 2000 international moving companies in its association, across 170 countries worldwide, the International Association of Movers (IAM) is the world’s largest international moving association.
If you book a move with an IAM company, not only do you know that the company is part of a large network of international moving companies but there are many more benefits also. Namely, all members must adhere to a strict set of IAM regulations that ensures the business runs in an ethical manner. IAM also prevents the inclusion of dubious moving companies, under IAM guidelines moving companies are required to get recommendations from at least two other members.
Eagle Relocations are proud members of IAM and have been part of the largest international moving association for over 20 years. Please always look out for companies’ accreditations.
